I painted this piece in 1992 after a suggestion by a local art publisher. They never took the image on, but it did win an award at a local juried show. But there’s an ongoing mystery with this one—where is it? Around 2003, I loaned it out to the owner of a business that leased out art to businesses. Later that company went out of business and I always thought the owner was just storing and looking after that canvas. I’m always in need of storage space for works, so I didn’t go chasing it. Years later, I want to get it properly digitally captured, so I called up and asked for it back. The guy said he gave it, and two other pieces, back to me years ago. I must have forgotten, so I turn my place upside down looking for this and two other missing canvases. Nothing. I’ve checked with everyone I know who has stored works for me and no luck.
If anyone out there has seen this canvas hanging anywhere, or if anyone I know here on Facebook happen to have it stored in their homes or business premises, please let me know. It’s hard to miss, it’s a 48 x 30 canvas, last seen framed with a stainless steel, floating gallery frame.
