September 29. Here's the hotel I stayed at while in Amboise. The Hotel Belle-Vue was the only 3 star hotel I slept in on my entire trip. On the first night I had the double room just above the street entrance awning for 300F. It was comfortable but the street was suprisingly noisy. On the second night I took a single room for only 270F -- a good deal and very comfy and quiet.

Chateau Amboise.

One of the small streets. There's lots of souviner shops.

Le Clos Lucé. This is the mansion where Leonardo da Vinci spent the last three years of his life. You can tour the house with it's period furnishings and see some models that have been built from some of his engineering sketches.

The backyard courtyard and gardens of Le Clos Locé.

This house, and some others in Amboise, are built right into the hillside.
