September 30. I take a train back to Paris and catch one of the fast TGV trains to Avignon. On this trip I get to sit with Nathalie (above) who shares her M&Ms and banana bread with me. She's from Paris and i s on her way to Marseilles. Her english is excellent and she tells me about life in Paris and France -- Thanks again Nathalie!

Avignon: A very busy street leading into the town from the train station.

Avignon: Lots of cars and tourists.

Avignon: Palace of the Popes. My visit to Avignon lasts about four and a half hours, then I catch a train for a short trip south to Arles.
